Lutnick Urges Apple to Avoid Memory Sourcing From China
U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnick has asked Apple to refrain from sourcing semiconductor memory from China, the Wall Street Journal reported by the 14th.
AI demand tightens supply
As memory shortages deepen amid the AI boom, Apple had been considering placing orders with Chinese manufacturers.
In an interview with the paper, Lutnick said, 'The Trump administration does not support sourcing from China. There should be another solution to the memory issue.' He said that view had already been conveyed to Apple.
