Iran body says Strait of Hormuz transit impossible amid U.S. moves

The Persian Gulf Strait Authority posted on X (formerly Twitter) on the 31st that transit through the Strait of Hormuz had become 'impossible' as aggressive movements by U.S. forces continued. The authority said it would review all applications and issue permits sequentially once the situation stabilizes.

Tanker damaged near Strait of Hormuz

British maritime authorities said on the 1st that a tanker was hit by a projectile near the Strait of Hormuz off Oman, damaging its engine room. There was an explosion near another tanker, but there was no damage. Both incidents were reported on the 31st.
