Nichirei to resume refrigerated warehouse operations
System failure recovery
Nichirei said on the 15th that it will gradually resume inbound and outbound operations at refrigerated warehouses from the 17th after a system failure affected its low-temperature logistics business. Its logistics subsidiary, Nichirei Logistics Group Headquarters, has Japan's top refrigerated storage capacity and handles frozen and chilled logistics, including products from other companies, mainly food.
Possible personal information leak
The company said a system failure occurred on the 13th, suspending some operations. It also said a server was hit by a cyberattack and that personal information may have been leaked. Some of the affected servers stored personal information, it said. Nichirei has set up an emergency response headquarters and is working on an investigation and recovery. If a leak is confirmed, it plans to promptly report it to the relevant parties.
