U.S. and Iran Set Path to Reach Agreement Within 60 Days
Pakistan and Qatar, which are mediating talks between the United States and Iran to end the fighting, said on the 21st that the two countries had agreed on a roadmap aimed at a final agreement within 60 days. They also put in place a contact system with the countries involved to ensure safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Set Up High-Level Committee
According to a joint statement from Pakistan and Qatar, the U.S. and Iran agreed to establish a 'high-level committee' and a framework in which it will lead working groups to discuss the nuclear issue and sanctions on Iran. The committee agreed on the roadmap, the statement said.
Senior-Level Talks in Switzerland
The United States and Iran held senior-level talks in Switzerland on the 21st. Based on this agreement, working-level talks are expected to continue going forward.
